Please join our Jewish community as we work together to help the Regional Food Bank feed children and adults in our community who rely on them for daily food. The entire Jewish community is invited to participate in this important mitzvah program.
This year our program will be held on the Sunday before the Thanksgiving Day holiday. Thanksgiving is a time we get together with family and friends for many enjoyable meals. We know there are many people in our community who struggle for daily meals all year long and hope you will join us in advance of the holiday to help our neighbors who are less fortunate.
In order to participate please register via this Regional Food Bank link.
Once you have registered with this link you will receive confirmation with all of the details along with a parental consent form which needs to be completed for any of your children who will be joining us.
* Children under the age of 8 are not allowed to volunteer with sorting/lifting food; we will have a special activity for younger children to complete.
* All children must have a parent/guardian with them for the entire program.
* If you don't already have a Mitzvah Corps t-shirt, please email Roberta with your t-shirt size/s no later than Friday, September 28th (be sure to indicate youth or adult size as well as small, medium, large, x-large, xx-large or xxx-large). We will be sure to order some extra shirts, just in case you didn't get one last year and register past the 9/28 deadline.
When you reap the harvest of your land, you shall not reap all the way to the edges of your field or gather the gleanings of your harvest. You shall not pick your vineyard bare or gather the fallen fruit of your vineyard; you shall leave them for the poor and the stranger; I am Adonai your God. Leviticus 19:9-10
