Take A Bite Out Of Hunger

Sunday, November 22, 2020

10:00 a.m. CST Via Zoom

Members of the Jewish community are invited to participate in the Jewish Federation’s annual Take a Bite Out of Hunger Mitzvah Corps project. This special program is for all ages – from young children to adults. No lifting of heavy boxes this year as we are going virtual!

Join us for a 45-minute program on November 22 to:

  • Learn how COVID-19 has heightened food insecurities for many of our neighbors and how the Regional Food Bank is responding.
  • Hear from one of the agencies receiving support from the Regional Food Bank.
  • Participate in an engaging online contest related to food insecurity.
  • Participate in our first ever online Jewish community tzedakah challenge* for the Regional Food Bank. We will raise funds in real time to help respond to food insecurity in our community. You are not required to participate in the tzedakah challenge to be part of this fun program and will learn of other ways you can choose to be supportive of the Regional Food Bank's important work.

Following the program, participants are invited to “attend” an optional virtual tour of the Regional Food Bank.

This program is free to attend but pre-registration is required via this link.

* Our program will be held during the Regional Food Bank’s Holiday Match season, so every dollar we raise will be matched 1:1. Last year our volunteer hours equated to $4,050 of hourly work at $27/hour; we hope we will be able to exceed that amount during this year's tzedakah challenge.
